The Australian Institute of Arboriculture RTO 45502 is a nationally recognised training organisation dedicated to developing the next generation of arborists and advancing professional standards across the arboriculture industry.
Through industry-led training, AIA delivers practical, hands-on education designed to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence required to work safely and effectively in the field. Our programs are built in consultation with experienced arborists and industry professionals to ensure training reflects real-world practices and current industry needs.
AIA offers nationally recognised qualifications including the Certificate III in Arboriculture (AHC30824) and Diploma of Arboriculture (AHC50524), supporting both new entrants and experienced arborists looking to progress into leadership or consulting roles.
The AHC50524 Diploma of Arboriculture is an advanced qualification designed for experienced arborists who want to move into leadership, consulting, and specialised tree management roles. This course develops the knowledge and analytical skills required to assess tree health, manage tree risk, plan arboricultural projects, and provide professional advice on tree management in urban environments.
Students gain deeper insight into tree biology, soil science, pest and disease management, tree risk assessment, and arboricultural report writing. The qualification also focuses on project planning, team supervision, and developing strategies for managing trees in complex environments such as construction sites, urban developments, and public spaces.
To enrol in the AHC50524 Diploma in Arboriculture, Ideally, applicants should have achieved a Certificate III in Arboriculture or related horticulture qualification, have at least two years industry experience as a practicing arborist and must have access to a workplace, laptop and a reliable internet connection.

The AHC30824 Certificate III of Arboriculture is the nationally recognised qualification for those looking to start or advance a career as a professional arborist. This course provides the practical skills and technical knowledge required to safely climb trees, operate chainsaws and arboricultural equipment, carry out tree pruning and removal, and maintain trees in urban and natural environments.
Students learn industry best practices in tree biology, hazard assessment, rigging techniques, and work health and safety while gaining hands-on experience with real arboriculture tasks. The qualification is designed for those working in tree services, vegetation management, councils, and utility arboriculture.
Upon completion, graduates are equipped with the skills required to work as a qualified arborist and may pursue further study pathways such as the Diploma of Arboriculture (AHC50524)
